Prayer walk for the Homeless & Vulnerable in Mansfield

– Tuesday 18th September from 6:15pm onwards

I would like to invite you to join me and others to take part in a prayer walk around four locations where the homeless and vulnerable go for support and help in Mansfield. Consent will have been obtained from the places we will be visiting.

You will recall that we last did the prayer walk in April. It was very successful, over 20 people came along and we prayed over all the places below.

Answers to prayers

There have been a number of answers to prayer since then including : for the Life centre – an Alpha course being run, 3 local people have become Christians, food parcels being handed out, breakfasts provided for local people and a weekly prayer meeting has started. For the Beacon alot of garden work has been done to help tackle anti social behaviour around the building and alterations for an internal prayer support room have been agreed.

The future and challenges ahead

A summer spectacular community event is happening outside the Life centre in a few weeks time, so please pray for this to be positive and successful. Also for the continuing Alpha course and other possible courses thereafter. For the Beacon, there are some real problems with water leaks effecting the building and the car park which could be very expensive to repair.

The Prayer Walk proposed plan :

Tuesday 18th September

6:15pm : Gather together at The Life Centre, 7, Egmanton Road, Mansfield (NG18 4NW). This is a relatively new location which opened just a few months ago, supporting local homeless and vulnerable people.

6:30pm : We will stand together and pray over this new centre.

6:45pm : Travel to Commercial Gate (NG18 1EU) and gather together in the courtyard area between Framework & YMCA. Park in the side streets nearby.

7:00pm : We will stand and pray over these two premises where so many homeless and vulnerable people have been helped and supported.

7:15pm : Travel to the Beacon Project at St Johns old church hall, Wood Street (NG18 1QH). Many homeless and vulnerable people have been helped and supported at this centre over many years. Note there is a small car park that can be used here.

7:30pm : We will gather together inside the Beacon Project and will be led in worship by a musician, which will lead into prayers.

8:00pm : Refreshments will be served at the old hall, and this is a time for fellowship and an opportunity to share ideas for the future to support the homeless and vulnerable in Mansfield.

9:00pm : This will be the end of the prayer walk event.

If you are willing and able to come along and support this event would you please let me know so we have an idea on numbers. By all means ask friends and family to come along and let me know numbers again please.
