Thank you!
We have so many different people to thank that we can’t mention them all but there are a few below who we want to extend a special thank you. However first and foremost we want to thank our supporters who have donated both with items and financially, you have helped us support those in need in Mansfield. We also want to say thank you to our great team of volunteers, we could not run this project without you, so thank you!
Thank you
Whettons Family Butcher, Warsop
A big thank you from everyone at the Beacon to Wettons Butchers, on Sherwood Street in Warsop.
Wettons have been donating their amazing meat pies every Friday to the Beacon project for over 10 years. Literally thousands of pies!.
We serve them with mushy peas, mint sauce & gravy. Quite a favourite!
We are really grateful for such a generous donation from a small local business, especially over such a long period of time. It’s support like this from the local community that enables us to sustain the services we provide at the Beacon.
The 'Sunday Lunch Club' / Greggs Voucher Scheme
The Beacon would like to say a huge thank you to Lynne Cooper (left), pictured here with John Coxhead & Louisa Hillman (former manager of the Beacon project)
Lynne, who was also a volunteer at the Beacon, sadly passed away in June 2022. Together with John Coxhead, they were the instigators & fundraisers for what was initially known as the ‘Sunday Lunch Club’, and later the ‘Greggs Voucher Scheme’. This enabled the homeless & vulnerable to get a meal when other services weren’t available, over the Winter months. Without their tireless efforts over many years the scheme could not have continued. It has become something our service users depend on.
Wates Group and YPHS
A big thank you to Wates group and YPHS for donating a much-needed cooker, cooker hood and various kitchen utensils, pots and pans etc. They also came to fit the cooker and the hood which was an unexpected bonus.
We are extremely grateful and so are all the people who come to our project for a hot meal. Thank you to all who were involved in this wonderful act of kindness.
